Michael, I think your platform sounds great. You own your stances on the issues, and can speak articulately about them. You're capable of writing your own speeches and making points based on your own opinions- you don't need handlers! You have an extensive public policy background. You aren't a GOP grifter or a right-wing nutcase (and somehow I think you'll be able to withstand the partisan blandishments of the petitioners pushing those "agendas.") You have the ability to shift the California legislature and state government out of bien pensant nostrums and the complacency of wishful thinking toward a positive vision.

Has anybody seen any polling for the California primaries? I've been checking real clear politics for weeks and have found nothing on California gubernatorial primary candidates. I probably don't fit in with the other folks here, because I am not a Democrat and generally lean in the direction of anybody but Newsom. I like Mike better than any of the Republican or other independent candidates on the primary ballot. But, I would rather vote for the person who has the best chance of unseating the ken doll.
